About this Class

Foundations 2 is a continuation of Foundations 1, following Justine’s Border Collie Revival from 6 to 8 months of age as she continues developing core agility foundation skills.

This course focuses on agility skills training, helping dogs develop obstacle understanding, commitment, and confident movement around equipment. The exercises introduce more complex challenges while continuing to build clarity and thoughtful responses.

Through structured games and progressive training exercises, dogs learn to develop focus, commitment, and control while beginning to interact with agility equipment.

These foundation skills are appropriate for dogs beginning their agility training, whether young dogs or older dogs just starting the sport.

Skills Covered

Throughout the course, teams will work on agility skills training exercises including:

  • Straight tunnel skills

  • Threadle foundations on the tunnel

  • Introduction to one jump

  • Wrap directionals (left vs. right)

  • Developing obstacle focus and commitment

  • Bypass skills

  • Building self-control around obstacles

  • Start-line games

  • Understanding extension vs. collection

  • Introduction to jump grids

These exercises help develop the fundamental agility skills that allow dogs to move confidently and thoughtfully around obstacles.
