Running Contacts 3

Running Contacts 3 is the final level in the three-part running contacts program, building on the foundation developed in Running Contacts 1 and Running Contacts 2.

In this class we continue progressing the running dogwalk to full height and greater challenge while introducing the running A-frame from the ground up. The goal is to develop a fast, confident, and reliable running contact performance with clarity and consistency.

Registration opens March 17th.
Classroom begins April 9th.

About this Class

Running Contacts 3 is the final level in the three-part running contacts program, continuing the progression toward a fast, confident, and reliable running dogwalk while introducing the running A-frame from the ground up.

This class builds on the foundation established in Running Contacts 1 and Running Contacts 2. Teams will continue to develop their dog’s understanding of the running dogwalk while gradually increasing height, complexity, and independence.

In addition to advancing the dogwalk, this class introduces running A-frame training, focusing on building the behaviour from the beginning so dogs develop strong understanding and consistency.

Skills Covered

This class focuses on advancing running contact performance through exercises such as:

  • Gradually progressing the dogwalk from low height to full height

  • Adding new approach and exit challenges

  • Developing contact-to-tunnel discrimination

  • Training the running A-frame from the ground up

Prerequisites

Dogs should:

  • Have completed Running Contacts Level 1 and Level 2

  • Be comfortable with the low dogwalk challenges introduced in Level 2

  • Be at least 14 months old

Handlers will need access to:

  • An adjustable dogwalk

  • An A-frame

Working Spots

Working students may submit up to 5 minutes of video per week for review. This can be submitted as either multiple short clips or one longer training video.

Auditor Spots

Auditors have full access to all classroom material and may follow along with the lessons while asking questions throughout the course.
