Skills & Drills 1 builds on the foundation skills introduced in Skills 2, helping teams strengthen and proof jump and tunnel skills through focused agility handling exercises.

This course features six structured lessons combining skill-building exercises and short handling drills designed to challenge both dog and handler. Each lesson includes course maps, diagrams, written instructions, and video demonstrations featuring Justine’s dog Revival and her littermate Billie.

Ideal for teams looking to develop greater consistency, understanding, and confidence when applying agility skills in sequences.

About this Class

Skills & Drills 1 is designed to help agility teams strengthen and proof their jump and tunnel skills through structured training exercises and progressive handling drills.

This course builds on the skills introduced in Skills 2, encouraging handlers to apply verbal cues, commitment understanding, and handling decisions in short but challenging sequences.

Across six structured lessons, teams will work through focused drills that help build clarity, confidence, and consistency in real training situations.

Each lesson includes:

• detailed course maps and diagrams
• written step-by-step instructions
• video examples featuring Justine’s dogs Revival and her littermate Billie

Skills Practiced in This Course

Dogs participating in this class should already have a basic understanding of:

• verbal wrap directionals
• inside and outside slices
• backside and inside wraps
• tunnel commitment and handling
• verbal discrimination skills

The exercises in this course focus on strengthening these skills and applying them in short agility sequences.

Space & Equipment Requirements

Two types of exercises are included in the lessons.

Drill sections

Approximately 40′ × 60′ space with:

• four jumps
• one tunnel

Skills sections

These exercises can be practiced in a smaller training area using:

• one jump
• one tunnel

Course Format

Working Spots

Working students may submit up to 5 minutes of video each week for instructor review. Videos may be submitted as several short clips or one longer training session.

Auditor Spots

Auditors can watch all lesson content and ask questions as they progress through the course.
