Stopped Dogwalk

Stopped Dogwalk provides a complete training system for developing a reliable stopped contact behaviour on the dogwalk.

The course guides handlers through the entire training progression—from the earliest stages of teaching contact criteria through to confident performance on full equipment.

The goal of the program is to develop dogs that approach the dogwalk with commitment and speed while maintaining clear understanding of the stopped contact behaviour.

Through progressive exercises and structured training steps, handlers will learn how to build clarity, confidence, and long-term reliability in their dog’s dogwalk performance.

Each lesson includes:

• detailed written instructions
• training diagrams and setup examples
• video demonstrations illustrating each stage of the training process

Space & Equipment Requirements

Training exercises require access to a dogwalk or adjustable contact equipment.

Many of the early training stages can be practiced using lowered equipment or partial setups before progressing to full-height dogwalk training.

Course Format

Working Spots

Working students may submit up to 5 minutes of video each week for instructor review. Videos may be submitted as several short clips or one longer training session.

Auditor Spots

Auditors can watch all lesson content and ask questions as they progress through the course.
